A couple of days ago “the Great Reset”, an initiative coming from the World Economic Forum, was trending on Twitter. I doubt they were pleased, because it was mostly people saying that it’s a plan for: “totalitarian rule by a global, technocratic elite”. All those people using the slogan “Build Back Better” are in on it, they say.
Although those memes are overstating the story for effect, there is a real and important struggle between a globalisation mindset and a localised one that people really should know about. And the fact there’s such a loud backlash has itself become part of the story. Let’s dive in, and see what it’s all about.
